The action “Immortal regiment” set a record in Moscow, bringing together more than 750 thousand members. On Tuesday, may 9, reported on the website of the MIA of Russia.

“In Moscow “Immortal regiment” has already collected more than 750 thousand members. People continue to join the procession,” reads the statement of the press service. Last year the event was attended by 700 thousand people.

Earlier, on 9 may it was reported that the procession was joined by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin with a portrait of his father, Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin. The head of state took to the campaign the third time.

“Immortal regiment” — a memorable procession, which is held may 9 in Russia, former Soviet States and foreign countries. Members are columns, carrying portraits of their relatives who participated in the war. The action was invented by journalists in Tomsk Sergey Lapenkov, Sergei Kolotovkin and Igor Dmitriev.
