The party “United Russia” will examine the question of the legal status of the symbols of Victory and their use in commercial advertising.
This was stated by the Deputy Secretary of the party’s General Council, Duma Deputy Yevgeny Revenko.
According to him, the recent cases of “cynical” use obscheuznavaemoe symbols of victory in the great Patriotic war in commercial advertising.
The legal status of these characters is not fixed in the current legislation.
“Currently, the legal status of the St. George ribbon is nowhere spelled out, also there is no definition and other symbols of Victory, which include the image of the soldier – liberator of the red Army, the images of marshals of Victory” — quoted by TASS Revenko.
According to the Deputy, it will allow to develop a number of amendments to the Federal legislation, including the law “On advertising”, and, accordingly, to protect “the symbols of the great Victory and the meaning which it contains, from unethical and consumer applications.”
