Rospotrebnadzor warned of encephalitis in raw milk

The CPS recommends that you do not drink raw goat’s milk in areas endemic for tick-borne encephalitis. About it reports “RIA Novosti” with reference to the press service of the Ministry.

“Mites attack small cattle grazing on the grass. If the tick is infected, the virus can get into raw milk”, — stated in the CPS. The Agency recommended to boil the milk.

Earlier it was reported that in Moscow since the beginning of the year is not recorded cases of tick-borne encephalitis. “Due to the cold spring weather, the season of activity of ticks in Moscow this year started later than usual. Since the beginning of the year recorded only 62 citizens ‘ appeals to medical institutions about sucking ticks. Diseases tick-borne viral encephalitis, not recorded,”—stated in the materials provided by the head of Rospotrebnadzor in Moscow Elena Andreeva, the operational meeting of the government of the capital.

This year ticks are already processed 284 hectares of urban areas, including parks, Sokolniki, Fili, Izmailovo Park and others. In addition, the clinics are open points where it is possible to vaccinate against tick-borne encephalitis.
