The Ministry of communications has proposed to simplify the procedure for filing of application on marriage

The Ministry of communications proposes to allow to choose the date of your registration within a year from the date of submission of the application. If approved by the Parliament and the President the law will take effect in 2018.

The Ministry of communications and mass communications has developed a bill that will simplify the procedure for filing of application about marriage registration and allow you to choose a convenient date for the wedding. The document was published on the Federal portal of draft regulations for public comment.

The Agency proposes to provide the bride and groom the opportunity to choose the date of your registration, but not earlier than one month and not later than one year from the date of submission of the application. Pick a date you can use the state information system “the Unified state register of acts of civil status”.

Currently, the registration of marriage takes place after the expiry of one month from the date of application, and for good reasons — within two months. In the explanatory Memorandum to the bill notes that this creates opportunities for corruption because of the “significant number of citizens wishing to marry in those or other significant date, but not having the opportunity to apply for the marriage in the appropriate date”. In addition, the current approach makes it impossible for a flexible regulation of the workload of the registry office, the authors of the initiative.

“The implementation of the proposed changes will allow the citizens to choose the date and time of state registration of marriage, including remotely, without the need for personal appearance in the bodies of civil status, with use of Federal state information system “Single portal of public and municipal services”, — stated in the explanatory Memorandum.

The initiatives, if approved by the Parliament and the President the law will come into force in 2018.
