Poll: a quarter of French voters go to the second round of elections

MOSCOW, 5 may — RIA Novosti. A quarter of French voters will abstain from voting in the second round of the presidential elections due to the lack of sympathy for both candidates — the leader of the far-right party “national front” marine Le Pen and the centrist Emmanuel Macron, according to a survey of company Odoxa.

An online survey was conducted by the company on Thursday among 998 French citizens eligible to vote.

The study notes that the majority of voters intending to ignore the elections, is the electorate of the politicians of the left orientation, defeated in the first round.

According Odoxa, the projected turnout in the second round of elections will be one of the lowest in the history of the Fifth Republic. In the first round, the figure was about 78%.

Sunday, April 23, France passed the first round of presidential elections. For the post of the head of state claimed 11 candidates.
