In the state Duma commented on the tightening of control on flights from Belarus

The decision to tighten control on the Russian-Belarusian airlines is logical and expected, said the Chairman of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Leonid Kalashnikov. It is reported RIA Novosti on Friday, 5 may.

“This was expected due to the fact that the Belarusians took an independent decision to open the border,” — said the Deputy.

He also stressed that Russia and Belarus — “still not a single state”. “In respect of third country nationals have to go, as long as our intelligence services did not agree. Of course, for your security answer, they are — for her,” — said Kalashnikov.

Earlier Friday it was reported that Russia imposes border control for citizens of third countries who arrive on flights from Belarus or flying to Republic. According to the Secretary of the Union state Rapota George, for Russians and Belarusians, the only change will be the duty to keep the boarding pass, confirming departure or arrival in the neighboring country. In the passport the stamp about crossing of the border to put down is not planned.

In February Belarus imposed a five-day visa-free regime for citizens of 80 countries crossing the state border at the airport of Minsk. In the list, in particular, included all States of the European Union and also the USA, Brazil and Japan. Thus, nationals of third countries who are to visit Russia require a visa, got the opportunity to get into the country without the required procedures.

Shortly after Belarus announced visa exemptions, the Director of FSB Alexander Bortnikov has signed orders, which involves the introduction of a border zone regime along the Russian-Belarusian border.
