The Chairman of the Duma Committee on information policy, information technologies and communications Leonid Levin said that to give content to the official accounts of the chamber in social media are professional journalists, not experts in the promotion of content on the Internet.
On 27 April, the Day of Russian parliamentarism, started official accounts of the lower house in social networks-Vkontakte, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Telegram.
According to Levin, to implement the idea there will be a Department created in the structure of the Duma management public relations and media relations. “As far as I know, it is expected that his work will be fundamentally different from the management of accounts of other public authorities – the content is generated not by the promoters of content on the Internet and professional journalists,” – said the MP. “I hope that with time they will be able to make the State Duma one of the most interesting of the participants”, – he added.
Levin said that the state Duma is “a public body of popular representation”. “Naturally, this approach and direct dialogue with the voter. Where is the most active and open dialogue? In social networks,” he said.
In this regard, the head of the Duma Committee confirmed that social networks are the most logical under modern conditions a tool to deliver their agenda – from coverage of events to the explanation of the essence of legislative activity. It is assumed that the content in each network will be different: Instagram – the Parliament of the people, in Facebook – the opinions of experts, and the social network “Vkontakte” – explanations of laws, he stated.
