In Moscow the police conduct a search in the International centre of the Roerichs (ICR) in the case of fraud the former Chairman of the Board of Master Bank, Boris the Baker. This was reported by the ICR lawyer Alexander Karabanov, reports TASS.

The lawyer said that the police confiscated paintings from the Roerich Center.
Earlier searches in the Museum’s case on the fraud management of Master-Bank was held in early March. During investigative actions were seized paintings of Nicholas and Svetoslav Roerich. They were subsequently transferred to the Museum of the East. Management centre of the Roerichs declared that the Ministry of culture “systematically” destroys Moscow Museum of Nicholas Roerich. As mentioned on the website of the ICR, the center’s activity was funded by the Baker.
Boris the Baker was put on the international wanted list. In April 2016 he was arrested in absentia in the case of deliberate bankruptcy of Master-Bank. According to investigators, from August 2012 to August 2013, the Bank has issued non-performing loans to customers of the Bank, namely 200 individuals and 170 legal entities. The Bank’s customers that were mentioned in the documents, in fact has not concluded such contracts. While firms that have been granted loans, were fictitious.
The withdrawal resulted in a reduction of the Bank’s assets. In the end, it was the occasion of deprivation of the Master-Bank license in November 2013 and the recognition of its bankruptcy. Debt Wizard Bank to creditors was estimated at 61 billion rubles, and the revocation of his license was at that time the largest insured event in Russia.
