Lavrov: terrorism in Syria should unite the efforts with the coalition
MOSCOW, April 29 — RIA Novosti. To combat terrorism in Syria, it is important to combine the efforts of Russia and the coalition led by the US, said the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“The cease-fire between government forces and the armed opposition is also vital, in order more effectively to confront terrorist threats on the territory of Syria,” — Lavrov said at the talks with Minister of foreign Affairs of Jordan Ayman al-safadi.
“We believe that to solve this problem, it is important to combine the efforts of all those fighting terrorism in Syria, I mean, and aerospace forces of the Russian Federation, and the coalition headed by the Americans,” — said the Russian Minister.
According to him, king Abdullah II of Jordan has repeatedly said that “fundamental to the effectiveness of the world community on the Syrian settlement is the interaction between Russia and the United States.”
“I can assure you that we’re fully prepared. We expect that the same approach will be manifested and Washington,” said Lavrov.
