One of the most famous women snipers in world history: Lyudmila Pavlichenko, on her account — more than 300 killed of the Nazis. American journalists nicknamed her “Lady Death”, although, of course, but this smiling girl such sinister nicknames didn’t deserve. Fighting with the Nazis, she was saved lives, but did not sow death.
Nee Belova Lyudmila spent her childhood in the province of Kiev. After school he worked as szlifowania, married at 16 and gave birth to a son. Marriage, however, soon disintegrated.

When the war began, Lyudmila immediately volunteered for the front. The first fascist she was killed near Belyaevka, Odessa region rifle Tokarev SVT-400. After 2.5 months on account of its 187 was already dead enemies. In December she was sent to Sevastopol, where she fought for another eight months. By June 1942, she already killed 309 Nazis, including 36 snipers.
During the war the Soviet army was about two thousand female snipers, of which of which survived the war only 500.

Among those who did not live to see the Victory, was Roza Shanina.
She was born in Vologda province into a peasant family in 1938, went to Arkhangelsk to study at the teacher.

In the third year, rose started work as a teacher and remained in this position after graduation. But in June 1943, she passed the mandatory military training, and then went to sniper school.

In April 1944, rose came to the front, and three days later killed the first enemy, that was for her serious emotional distress. In the battles she participated for less than a year and died 28 January 1945 in the East Prussian operation. His 20 years of Roza Shanina eliminated at least 59 of the Nazis.
