The leader “Fair Russia” Sergey Mironov is ready to participate in the elections of the President of Russia in 2018, if the Congress party will nominate him. About this politician said on Monday, April 24, reports TASS.
“We have many worthy candidates. If the Congress will trust me, I’m ready,” he said.
In Russia the head of state is elected for six years on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot. The next presidential election is scheduled for March 2018.
About his intention to run for the presidency has already declared the leader of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the founder of the Fund of struggle against corruption Alexei Navalny and businessman Sergei Polonsky, who is in custody in the case of large fraud. Whether to nominate a candidate the acting head of state Vladimir Putin, is still unknown.
Mironov took part in the presidential campaigns twice, in 2004 and 2012. In both cases, he received the lowest score of 0.75 per cent and 3.85 per cent of the votes respectively.
