Involved in the assistance programmes of the DPRK an American in Pyongyang arrested

A US citizen was arrested at the international airport of Pyongyang. About it reports on Sunday, April 23, the South Korean Agency Yonhap, citing its own sources.

As noted, the man — a former American-Korean Professor Albanische University of science and technology in the Chinese city of Yanji. It is known that he was more than 50 years, and his last name is Kim.

According to the Agency, the man went to programs on rendering assistance to the DPRK and conducted in the country for about a month. He was arrested on April 21, when he was about to depart from North Korea. The cause of the incident is unknown.

Yonhap notes that this is the third US citizen arrested in North Korea in recent years.

In April 2016, the court of the people’s Republic has sentenced a US citizen of Korean descent Kim Dong-Chul to 10 years in prison on charges of spying and for action aimed at the overthrow of the social order. 62-year-old Kim Dong-Chul was arrested in October 2015, when the received flash media with secret information about the nuclear program of North Korea.
