ST. PETERSBURG, April 23. /TASS/. Former Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksey Bolshakov working in the government in 1994-1997, died in St. Petersburg at the age of 77 years. Alexey Bolshakov was born in Pskov region on 17 December 1939. In 1962 graduated from the Leningrad electrotechnical Institute of communications named after M. A. Bonch-Bruevich on a speciality “engineer-radio technician”, in 1981 — Institute of management Academy of national economy under the USSR Council of Ministers. In the 1970s and 1980s years has held a number of senior positions at the enterprises of Leningrad was the Director of the factory “Volna”, Deputy General Director of NPO. Of the Comintern, Director General of NPO “Distant communication”.

In 1988-1991 Bolshakov was Deputy, then first Deputy Chairman of the Leningrad Executive Committee, headed the city planning Commission. In July-October 1991 he held the position of Chairman of the Committee of St. Petersburg mayor for economic development, was a member of expert economic Council at the city hall for the management of the Leningrad free zone. In the years 1991-94 he was the General Director of RAO “high-speed railway”.

In November 1994 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the government of the Russian Federation for cooperation with CIS countries. In August 1996, he was appointed first Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, was in charge of state management in the sphere of industry, transport and communications. The Cabinet of Ministers Bolshakov left in March 1997, after leaving government, he headed the Board of Trustees of Fund of development of St. Petersburg and North-West region, 1998 — the Board of Directors of JSC “Interregional NGO “Polymetal”.

Bolshakov was awarded the State prize of the USSR, was awarded the order “badge of Honor” and the red banner of Labor
