Medvedev called the main result of the work of the government in 2016

Life expectancy in Russia over the ten year period increased by six years and reached the level of the sample in 72 years. Such a result, the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev presented during a report on the work of the government in the state Duma, the correspondent “reports Tapes.ru”.

Medvedev has called this achievement a major in government and noted that this is the highest figure in the history of the country.

Earlier in the report to the lower house of Parliament, Medvedev said that Russia could use sanctions and falling oil prices to their benefit.

In March the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that the country has the reserves to increase life expectancy to 76 years. The head of state noted that over the past 12 years, this indicator increased in Russia on average six and a half years.

In 2015 in Russia, according to official statistics, had been made the previous record life expectancy in the entire history of the country, including the Soviet period — the average life expectancy in Russia amounted to 71.4 years (for males — 65.9 years for women 76.7).
