Garages in Cheboksary schools will be turned into classrooms for first-graders

At three schools of city of Cheboksary garages, utility rooms and libraries being converted by the classrooms for first graders. This “GTRK Chuvashiya” have informed in city administration.

It is noted that this is due to the increase in the number of first-graders. It is planned that through the conversion of non-academic areas at the three schools for the new academic year will see eight additional classes. In particular, the school No. 59 workshops will take in the garage and vacate the premises equipped classrooms for first graders.

“We will repair them, create necessary conditions, provide to the CPS that they received them as a training room”, — said the head of Department of education of the city administration Dmitry Zakharov.

It is noted that due to the redevelopment of the premises will have to modify the schedule and extend the duration of the change, so students had time to go to the other corps. For capital repairs of non-school buildings from the city budget allocated nine million rubles.

In February, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said that the increase in the number of students has become a serious burden on schools. In 2016 on the construction of new schools were allocated 25 billion rubles, as a result, last year there was 167 million new training places. According Golodets, still about six million places.

Currently in Russia there are 43 thousands of schools, which consists of 15 million children. Two million students involved in the second shift, and nine thousand in the third.
