Putin congratulated Orthodox Christians with Easter

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated Orthodox Christians and all citizens of Russia celebrating Christ’s Resurrection. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.

“The great feast of Easter has a special moral sense, carries the eternal light of faith, fills the hearts of men with joy, love, desire to do good. Easter celebrations, which are widely held across the country, bring us back to the centuries-old traditions of their ancestors, contribute to promote the lasting spiritual values and ideals,” – said in his congratulatory telegram the head of state.

“With feeling of deep satisfaction I want to note creative, truly selfless work of the Russian Orthodox Church, representatives of other Christian denominations, aimed at solving important social problems, strengthening the institution of family, education of the younger generation, harmonization of inter-religious and inter-ethnic relations. And of course, the greater their role in preserving our rich historical and cultural heritage”, – said in the congratulation of the President.
