The former mayor of Kholmsk will return “donated” him 1.7 million rubles to the budget

Southern-the Sakhalin city court ordered the former head of Kholmsk urban district Oleg Nazarenko to pay to the budget of the municipality, more than 1.7 million rubles illegally obtained by the officer in 2012. This was reported on the website of the regional Prosecutor’s office on Friday, April 14.

It is noted that the court decision came into legal force. Before that, Nazarenko appealed the decision of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk city court on appeal, but the decision was upheld.

According to prosecutors, Nazarenko, occupying the post of head of the municipality, received money from the Regional Fund of socio-economic development “Sakhalin-XXI century”. Clarifies that of 1.74 million rubles were “donated” to him for the purchase of housing in Kholmsk. The Fund has transferred to the account of the seller of the apartment at the beginning of 2012.

As reported “Interfax”, the “Sakhalin-XXI century” appears in the testimony of witnesses on criminal case of ex-Governor of the Sakhalin region Alexander Khoroshavin and several of his subordinates, who are accused of crimes of corruption.

Khoroshavin was arrested in March 2015, after the audit of several departments of the Sakhalin oblast. Shortly after this officer was removed from office of the head of region in connection with loss of trust. According to investigators, the former Governor for two years, received bribes amounting to more than 5.6 million dollars. He initiated three criminal cases.
