Erdogan congratulated politicians with a victory in the referendum on amendments to the Constitution
According to preliminary unofficial data, 51.3% of voters supported the adoption of the amendments introducing Turkish presidential form of government.

“The President congratulated on winning the referendum to the Chairman of the party of justice and development party (AKP), Prime Minister of Binali Yildirim, the head of the nationalist movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahceli and Chairman of the Party of great unity (PVE) Mustafa Destidzhi. He wished happiness to the Turkish people in connection with the voting results”, — said the representative of the administration. The AKP, MHP and PVE teamed up during the election campaign and campaigned for amendment.
“According to as yet unofficial data, 25 million citizens supported the amendments. This is a 1.3 million votes more than those who said “no”. Today we adopted a historically important decision on the question of system leadership were arguing about the last 20 years,” Erdogan said later.

The Prime Minister of Turkey and head of the ruling justice and development Binali Yildirim during a speech at the headquarters of the party in Ankara noted that “the results of the vote were the best answer to those who stood behind the coup attempt on 15 July 2016”.
“Our people made a choice, gave its approval to a presidential system. Our country has again shown that it will not bow before any threat. Yildirim also said that the authorities have a lot of work, during which they “will defend the country’s unity, despite the differences in views” among the population.
Currently processed 99% of the ballots. 51.3% of citizens of Turkey expressed support of the package of constitutional amendments.
