Cultural facilities will protect from attacks religious activists

The law “On the protection of the highly significant moral values” is proposed to extend to cultural institutions.

Socio-cultural space, including theatres and museums will fall under the new law “On the protection of the highly significant moral values”, a concept which has recently approved by the Commission on harmonization of interethnic and interreligious relations of the Public chamber of the Russian Federation.

The law provides for administrative liability for those who violate rules of conduct in religious institutions, in the national and historical monuments, as well as in cultural institutions.

In fact, according to “Izvestia”, approved by the Commission OP of the Russian Federation the concept involves the spread of norms of the law “On protection of feelings of believers” in secular objects.

The document will be sent to the State Duma before end of spring

It is proposed to allocate on the territory of the country “social space with a special status — specially designed for the implementation of activities is inextricably linked with intense moral and emotional experiences, with a highly significant moral values.”

Accordingly, the owners or administration of museums and other cultural institutions will be allowed to post on the entrance to the rulebook, which will contain a warning of sanctions for its violation (it is essentially equated to the violation of the law).

“This is the only way to ensure the protection of the moral feelings of all” — said the head of the Commission for harmonization of interethnic and interfaith relations, Iosif Diskin. In his opinion, a dispute about was the hurt feelings of the citizens or not, constructive. “I crossed the space, where there are rules and you warned them about, you offend people, if these rules are violated,” he concluded.
