The Holy fire will be delivered for the first time in the United States
Moscow. April 15. INTERFAX.RU — Holy fire, which descends every year before Orthodox Easter in Jerusalem, will deliver on Saturday in different parts of the world, including in the United States.
“For the first time plan to deliver this Shrine in the United States, and has already received permission to transport the lamps from the Holy fire on Board the aircraft,” — told “Interfax” the press service of the Fund.
Bringing the fire to US will be made on the initiative of parishioners of the Russian Church abroad
Fire particles will also give several tens cities of Russia, including in Crimea, also in Baku, Riga, Tallinn and London.
The bringing of the Holy fire in the Russian churches, including the Patriarchal Easter service at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, is part of a multi-year program of Fund of Andrey Pervozvannogo “pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” An important component of this initiative is the prayer for peace in the Holy Land which makes the Russian delegation with the Patriarch of Jerusalem.
The Holy fire occurs on Great Saturday in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre during a special worship service. One of the first this event has described the Russian monk Daniel who made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in the early XII century.
Fire descends in built in 1810, the chapel (Shrine) at the place of burial of Christ. Shortly before Easter, which this year Christians around the world celebrate on April 16 completed the first 200 years of the restoration of the Holy Sepulchre.
