The Director of the CIA suspected WikiLeaks in Russia

The Director of the CIA Mike Pompeo called WikiLeaks an enemy intelligence service, working with the support of such States as Russia. He stated this on Thursday, April 13, speaking at the Center for strategic and international studies in Washington.

“WikiLeaks acting and speaking as enemy intelligence. It encourages its supporters to get a job at the CIA to get intelligence. The organization was led by Chelsea (Bradley) Manning, who stole the secret information. It is time to call WikiLeaks what it is — a non-government services operating with the support of such players as Russia,” said Pompeo.

In 2013, manning was convicted for passing to WikiLeaks more than 700 thousand classified documents, including diplomatic cables and secret reports about the various incidents with soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. He stated that he was not going to harm his country or its military, and wanted to draw the world’s attention to the fact that the US government neglects to civilians in war zones around the world. In prison he achieved the legal recognition of himself as a woman named Chelsea. 18 January 2017, two days before the end of his presidency, Barack Obama commuted her sentence. Convicted have to serve only a term of seven years, and it will be released on 17 may 2017.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on 3 January said that the website is not cooperating with Russia or any other country. According to him, the administration of then-President Obama, accusing Moscow of meddling in the American elections, wished thus to deny the legitimacy of the elected head of state Donald trump.

11 Jan American site BuzzFeed has published the reports of a former agent of British intelligence, which stated that the Russian authorities allegedly for five years supported the Trump and collected on his extensive incriminating evidence, including his meetings with prostitutes. WikiLeaks called the common materials “a clear forgery”.

29 Dec 2016 Obama and the U.S. Treasury have imposed sanctions against Russia in connection with the alleged cyber attacks against the U.S. electoral system. In particular, under the restrictions were FSB and the Main intelligence Directorate of the General staff of the Armed forces. On the same day the national security Agency (NSA) and Federal Bureau of investigation (FBI) published a joint paper in which he accused the Russian authorities of involvement in the cyber attacks.
