In Moscow want to understand the real intentions of the US administration think it is wrong to put a partner before selecting the in the form of an ultimatum. This was stated by Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the meeting with the American colleague Rex Tillerson, reports “Interfax”.
“It’s very important to understand your position, the position of the United States, the real intention of your administration,” said Lavrov. “Our consistent line is formed solely in line with international law and not under the influence of momentary conjuncture or false choice: either you are with us or against us”, — said the head of the Russian foreign Ministry.
Earlier, on April 11, Tillerson said that Russia must make a choice between “US and sane countries on one side and Iran, Hezbollah and the regime of [Syrian President] Bashar al-Assad on the other.”
“We want to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people. Russia could become a part of the future and an important role to play or to keep their Alliance with this group, which, in our opinion, will not serve the interests of Russia in the long term,” he said.
On the same day, the Deputy head of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs, Andrey Klimov suggested that Tillerson made the announcement due to the fact that it is not enough to understand the issue. “If he knows the real situation, and says so, then it is a very dangerous symptom,” — said the MP.
