In Moscow began farewell ceremony with Yevgeny Yevtushenko
After the funeral cortege with the coffin of the poet will go to Peredelkino.
Moscow. April 11. INTERFAX.RU — IN the Central House of writers began the ceremony of farewell with the poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko. As the correspondent of “Interfax”, the people began to gather near the building of the TSDL an hour before the ceremony. First came into the hall, relatives of the poet. 11:00 start the funeral, it will lead the Soviet and Russian literary critic, Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, member of the RF Commission for UNESCO Affairs, honored artist of Russia Yevgeny Sidorov.
After the funeral cortege with the coffin of the poet will go to Peredelkino, where funeral will be held. Yevtushenko was buried near the grave of Boris Pasternak, the funeral will be attended only by family and close friends of the poet.
Yevtushenko was born 18 Jul 1933 in Irkutsk region. He began to be published in 1949. In 1952 he published his first book of poems Yevtushenko “Scouts coming”. In the same year he became the youngest member of the Union of Soviet writers.
Gained fame also as a novelist, Director, screenwriter, essayist and actor.
Yevtushenko published several compilations, which became very popular: “the Third snow” (1955), “Highway of enthusiasts” (1956), “Promise” (1957), “Verses of different years” (1959), “Apple” (1960), “Tenderness” (1962), “wave of the hand” (1962).
In 1963, Yevtushenko was nominated for the Nobel prize for literature.
From 1986 to 1991, Yevtushenko was Secretary of the Union of Soviet writers. December 1991 — Secretary of the Board of the Commonwealth of writers ‘ unions. 1989 — co-Chairman of the writers Association “April”. Since 1988 — member of the society “memorial”.
In 1991, Yevtushenko signed a contract with the American University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and moved with his family to teach in the United States, where he lived, sometimes coming to Russia. In 2007, the sports complex “Olympic” took place the premiere of the rock Opera “Go white snegi”, created on verses of Evtushenko composer Gleb May.
The poet was awarded the order “badge of Honor” (1967), Labour red banner, Friendship of Peoples (1993), “For merits before Fatherland” III degrees for the big contribution to development of Russian literature in 2004, and many others.
Yevtushenko died in USA April 1 to 85-m to year of life.
