The US issued to its citizens in Russia a warning that urged to be especially vigilant after the missile strike on the Syrian airfield in HOMS province. The message published on the website of the Embassy in Moscow.
“The U.S. Embassy in Moscow reminds all U.S. citizens that the political climate in Russia requires to exercise the highest level of vigilance and caution. After the recent events there is a probability of large-scale demonstrations, as well as strengthening anti-American sentiments,” the statement reads.
In this regard, the Embassy recommends its citizens not to attract too much attention. It is also recommended to carry documents and a mobile phone with emergency phone numbers.
On the night of 7 April by order of the President of Donald trump, the US fired cruise missiles Shayrat airfield used by governmental armies of Syria. The incident happened after reports of the alleged use by the forces of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad of chemical weapons in Idlib province. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev expressed the view that the attack on the airbase was done in violation of international law and has put Moscow and Washington “on the brink of military clashes”.
Later, White house spokesman Sean Spicer said that the world community considers the attack on Syria proper response, and most countries approve of the actions of the American President.
