Russia suspends the Memorandum on the prevention of incidents in Syria

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. Moscow suspends the Memorandum on the prevention of incidents and ensuring the safety of aviation in Syria concluded with the United States. This is stated in a special statement the Russian foreign Ministry.
“The Russian side is suspending the Memorandum on the prevention of incidents and ensuring the safety of aviation operations in Syria concluded with the United States, the document says. — Urge the UN Security Council to hold emergency meeting to discuss the situation”.

The document States that the conclusions have been made by the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons (OPCW), which in recent years has inspected almost all of the objects that were or could be related to military chemical program in Syria.

As reported by the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov will soon make a statement in connection with the strike of the United States.
“In the near future with assessment of the current situation will be made by the Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov,” the diplomat said.
Thursday of the U.S. armed forces by order of the President of Donald trump has launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at the military airport in the Syrian province of HOMS. A rocket attack was a response to the intended application of April 4 chemical weapons in the Syrian province of Idlib. The US government believes that this airfield was started by the alleged chemical attack.
