Moscow. April 6. INTERFAX.RU — Re-launch of the first stage of the rocket Falcon 9 SpaceX allowed the company to save considerably, according to the publication SpaceNews. So, the re-launch was two times cheaper than the production of new stage.

SpaceX President Gwynn Shotwell, speaking at the 33rd Space Symposium, has not announced the exact numbers. However, it became clear the ratio of the cost of a new first stage and repair costs on its preparation for re-launch.
According to Shotwell, the cost of the repair work was “much less than half the cost of a new first stage”.
The American aerospace company SpaceX was originally designed the first stage of Falcon 9 reusable in order to reduce the cost of launch missiles.
Shotwell noted that over time, renovations will spend less resources. And the purpose of the company in the long run to do for 24 hours to prepare a first stage re-run.
