In the state Duma refused to regulate beekeeping

The state Duma Committee on agrarian issues rejected the draft law “On beekeeping”. It is reported RIA Novosti on Thursday, 6 April.

The document submitted to the state Duma deputies of the Communist party faction headed by Communist leader Gennady Zyuganov. As noted in the explanatory note, the draft law is aimed at introduction of General principles of legal regulation, organization and management of beekeeping and the protection of bees.

In addition, the developers of the bill propose to define the powers of the authorities in this sphere, measures to support beekeepers with industry.

The Cabinet pointed out that the beekeeping industry sufficiently regulated at the Federal and regional levels.

In the spring of 2015, it was reported that one of the largest greenhouses in the Sverdlovsk region passed the domestic bumblebees and refused to purchase insects from Israel. Experts explained this by the fact that it is much easier to work with Russian suppliers, which “at any moment can come to us and advise”.

In some Russian constituent entities, there are regional documents in the field of beekeeping. So, in Bashkiria, which is a leader in honey production in the country, approved the Concept of development of the industry, which implies an increase in the production of commercial honey in half by 2020, from 5.2 to 8.4 thousand tons.
