The Brandenburg gate was illuminated in the colors of the Russian flag
MOSCOW, 6 APR — RIA Novosti. The Brandenburg gate was illuminated in the colors of the Russian flag without the permission of the authorities of Berlin. The action was held by activists of the far-right National democratic party of Germany in solidarity with Russia after the recent terrorist attack in St. Petersburg.
Video from the event appeared on the official page of the party in Facebook. “If the Senate of Berlin wants to commemorate the victims in St. Petersburg, then we’ll do it”, — said in the caption to the video.
The early authorities of the German capital decided not to illuminate the Brandenburg gate flowers of the Russian tricolor, as it was done before after a major terrorist acts in other cities of the world. The decision is motivated by the fact that Berlin is a sister city of St. Petersburg.
On Monday in St. Petersburg metro on the stretch between the stations “Sennaya Ploschad” and “Tekhnologichesky Institut-2” there was a terrorist attack. 14 people were killed, including the alleged suicide of Akbarjon Jalilova, hospitals remains 51 injured. Another explosion at the station “Ploshchad Rebellion” was averted.
