Russian President Vladimir Putin and ex-Deputy Plenipotentiary representative in the Volga Federal district Alexander Evstifeev

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to ex-Deputy Plenipotentiary of the President in Privolzhsky Federal district (PFO), the Chairman of the Arbitration court of the Moscow region Alexander Evstifeeva become the acting head of the Mari El Republic until the election in September.
At the meeting with Evstifeeva in the Kremlin the President of Russia noted that “the current situation when the current head of the Republic asks to use it on another work area”. “Leonid I. (Markelov) for 16 years in the Mari El Republic and would like to change their job. In this regard, I have a question: would You like to lead the country to elections in September this year, and depending on the results – to take part in the election campaign?” – Putin addressed Evstifeeva. The head of state reminded that Evstifeev at the time of zampolpreda in the Volga Federal district was engaged in this Republic.
He replied that he was ready to perform this task. “This is a high honor, great trust and huge responsibility. I understand the word “responsibility”, because the work in the national republics, national republics within the Russian Federation is a very serious matter,” said Evstifeev. He promised in case of appointment to use all of his experience, including work in the Volga Federal district.
Putin asked the opinion Evstifeeva about the potential of the region. Future, acting head of the Republic called this potential is high enough. “Another thing is that he is not fully implemented, but the Republic has the potential in the industrial sector, especially in agriculture”, – said the interlocutor of the President. He noted that while in Mari El do not develop.
“Let’s say today is the loss of arable land. Not quite well established with education of the youth. Not yet and socio-economic development in the sense of low wages, but there are advantages: much done, much remains to be done,” said Evstifeev. “I wish You good luck”, – concluded Putin.
Plenipotentiary representative of RF President in Volga Federal district Mikhail Babich, April 7, will present at the Mari El Republic Alexander Evstifeeva as interim head of the Republic.
“Tomorrow, April 7, Yoshkar-Ola Babich will present the acting head of the Republic of Mari El,” – said the press service. The event will be attended by members of the government of the Republic, deputies of the legislative body of the region, heads of territorial divisions of Federal Executive authorities, heads of municipalities, representatives of public and religious organizations, said the press service.
