UN 5 APR. /Offset. TASS Oleg Zelenin/. Prepared by Western countries draft resolution on the recent incident of chemical weapons in Syria “is characterized by extreme negligence”, and to invite the Security Council to adopt its “just not right”. This was stated by the Deputy permanent representative to the UN Vladimir Safronkov. Speaking at the security Council meeting, he announced changes which, in the opinion of the Russian side, should be made to the text.

According to the diplomat, the draft resolution “prepared in haste and is characterized by extreme recklessness.” “To suggest that the Security Council approve such a text well, just not right,” concluded Safronkov. “You see that writing?” he added, referring to Western partners.
