In Novosibirsk activists on the money I cast a monument to Stalin
The initiative group requires the municipality to coordinate the installation of the bust.
Moscow. 5 APR. INTERFAX.RU — Bust of Joseph Stalin is ready to install in Novosibirsk, but the municipality is delaying the solution to the issue with its placement, said Wednesday the initiative group on installation of a monument to the “leader of peoples”.
“Bust of Generalissimo Stalin made and ready for installation in the city of Novosibirsk”, — stated in the message. The author of the sculpture of Pavel Markov, the bust is made of fiberglass, tinted dark bronze. “The cost of the work of the sculptor in the amount of 200 thousand rubles. we paid due to the collected people’s money”, — stated in the message.
First, the initiative group suggested to establish a monument to the Heroes of the Revolution square, but city hall refused, citing the fact that the square is the object of cultural heritage of regional value. Then public men have suggested to the city authorities the other place is the memorial ensemble “Feat Siberians in the Great Patriotic war 1941 — 1945”, but it was not agreed.
It is noted that the mayoralty of Novosibirsk has not conducted a survey of citizens, on which she insisted to find out their attitude to the placement of a monument to Stalin on the territory of Novosibirsk, with any proposals from the mayor’s office regarding the place for the monument was not.
“We objected to the survey because Stalin in the survey does not need his services in the history of our country is undeniable. (…) We also know that the planned installation of the monument to Tsar Nicholas II (the monument is already ready, the king and the son are in full growth) near Alexander Nevsky Church, but no one has conducted a survey and, as we understand it, no one will ask the opinion of the residents of the city,” celebrate community.

In his opinion, the installation of a monument to Stalin is controversial, therefore, informed the arts Council of Novosibirsk has rejected the initiative.
