United Russia has suspended the party membership of the former head of Udmurtia

The Presidium of the Udmurt political Council of “United Russia” has suspended the party membership of the former head of the Republic Alexander Solovyov, who is accused of bribery. This was reported on the website of the regional branch of United Russia on Tuesday, April 4.

“It’s not a membership, but only its suspension in time of investigative actions”, — underlined in the message.

On excitation of criminal case against Soloviev became known on Tuesday morning. He was accused of receiving two bribes. Investigators believe that in the years 2014-2016, he got about 139 million rubles from representatives of organizations engaged in the construction of bridges over the rivers Kama and Bui. Solovyov, according to investigators, also provided a share of the commercial organization.

The same day Russian President Vladimir Putin sent him on the resignation in connection with loss of trust. The acting head of the Udmurt Republic appointed a former Secretary of the Public chamber, co-Chairman of the Central headquarters of the popular front Alexander Brechalov.

In December 2015 Soloviev resigned the powers of the Secretary of the Udmurt branch of the EP, stated on its website. This decision he explained the lack of time for the decision of party questions.

Alexander Soloviev was head of the Udmurt Republic from February 2014. Prior to that, he represented the Republic in the Federation Council from 2007 to 2013 he was Chairman of the state Council of the region of the fourth and fifth convocations.
