Ukraine has called the organizers of “Eurovision” not to interfere in the internal Affairs of the country
Earlier, the head of the EBU Ingrid Deltenre said that Kiev may be subjected to sanctions due to the fact that the SBU has banned entry to the country representative of Russia Yulia Samoilova.
KIEV, April 4. /TASS/. The Supervisory Board of the National public broadcasting company of Ukraine (NOTE) urged the European broadcasting Union (EBU) not to interfere in the internal Affairs of the country and respect its sovereignty.
The indignation of the Supervisory Board caused a letter from the head of the EBU Ingrid Deltenre in which it said that Kiev may be subjected to sanctions due to the fact that the security Service of Ukraine (SBU) banned entry to the country representative of Russia Yulia Samoilova to participate in the contest “Eurovision-2017”.
The requirement to cancel the decision of the SBU, taken within its statutory powers as a thesis about approval of decisions of the SBU with the EMU, can be regarded as “interference in the internal Affairs of Ukraine, that are beyond the powers of the EMU and objectives of the Eurovision song contest”, said in a NOTE.
“We urge Ms. Ingrid Deltenre and it is the European broadcasting Union to respect the sovereignty of Ukraine, not to transform the European broadcasting Union into a tool of strengthening of foreign political manipulation and not to interfere with such statements normal and proper conduct of the contest, such as this year and in the future”, — reads the statement of the Supervisory Board NOTE. In the National broadcasting company also called on the EBU to “avoid threats of exclusion of Ukraine from the participants of the contest “Eurovision”.
On March 22 it became known that the SBU three years forbidden Russian singer Yulia Samoilova entry into the country. SBU believes that Samoilov, speaking in the summer of 2015 at a concert in the Crimea, had violated the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine according to which foreigners must have special permission to visit the Peninsula.

In turn, the European broadcasting Union expressed its disappointment with the decision by Ukrainian authorities to ban entry Samoilova.
