Tourist from Amsterdam by mistake flew to Canada instead of Australia

Tourist from Amsterdam by mistake arrived in Canada instead of Australia, confused with the same names of the two cities in these countries. It is reported by The Sun.

The Dutchman Milan Schipper (Schipper Milan) bought a ticket to Sydney, thinking that will arrive in the Australian city. However, in the end it turned out that he had paid for the flight carrier Air Canada in Sydney, located in the canadian province of Nova Scotia.

My mistake Schipper realized only when flew to Toronto, where he and other passengers had to change trains. Dutch tourist was surprised by a small plane that was waiting for them in the canadian city. “I figured if he can take us to Australia,” he recalls.

On Board the traveler saw a map with the route of flight and realized that flying in the wrong direction. To correct the error has been impossible — by that time the aircraft have already gone to destination.

Arriving in Sydney canadian, Schipper returned to Toronto, and from there back to Amsterdam, where he met his father. Air Canada as compensation offered tourists a free ticket to the Australian Sydney.
