The U.S. Supreme court refused to take into consideration the case of Victor bout

The U.S. Supreme court refused to consider the case of the Russian citizen Victor bout. As reported TASS, the notice of refusal was published without explanation of the reasons for the decision.

In a press-service of the Supreme court, the Agency stated that any additional comments on the case booth, no other solutions are not available. The highest judicial authority, in addition to the bout case, announced its withdrawal from the examination of several dozen petitions.

As reported RIA Novosti, the lawyer bout Alexey Tarasov, legal mechanisms to have been exhausted. “Unfortunately, no further action legal production system does not provide for”, — he explained. According to the lawyer, the Supreme court accepts for consideration only about one percent of applications for hearing. The lawyer also said that he had held consultations with Russian diplomats in Washington. Tarasov said that “in the end, hopes that there are way to Viktor Bout back home.”

The defense appealed the verdict to the booth in the U.S. Supreme court on February 22. In March it became known that the Prosecutor’s office refused to file objections against the revision of the sentence of Russian.

Booth in April 2012 was found guilty in U.S. court to conspiracy to sell weapons to the organization “Revolutionary armed forces of Colombia” (FARC), which in the US is related to terrorist. A Russian citizen pleaded not guilty.

The businessman was arrested in March 2008 in Thailand at the request of Washington. According to open sources, the reason for the detention was the record of the negotiations on arms with his participation made by undercover agents of Management on struggle against drugs of the USA.
