Concerts in more than 20 regions of the Russian Federation will be held in the framework of the Easter festival

Moscow. On 2 April. INTERFAX.RU — 16-th Moscow Easter festival, artistic Director of which is Valeri Maestro Gergiev, will be held from 16 April to 9 may and will be dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian composer Igor Stravinsky.

According to the organizers, the festival provides symphonic, choral, chamber and bell-ringing programs and charity concerts.

The Grand opening will take place in Day of Light Easter, April 16, at the Great hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Symphony orchestra of the Mariinsky theatre under Valery Gergiev and pianist Denis Matsuev will perform works by I. Stravinsky, P. Tchaikovsky, S. Rachmaninov and M. Glinka.

In just three weeks of the festival, the musicians of the Symphony orchestra of the Mariinsky theatre will perform in more than 20 regions of Russia: in Moscow, Kazan, Almetyevsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Orenburg, Magnitogorsk, Yekaterinburg, Surgut, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Tomsk, Omsk, Perm, Ulyanovsk, Saransk, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Tula, Kursk, Rostov-on-don, Vladikavkaz, Stavropol and Voronezh.

The choral program opens April 17 in the Hall of Church cathedrals of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, where they will perform the Mariinsky theatre chorus and other choral groups. Concerts of the program will be held in Moscow, Rostov, Tver, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Balashikha, Kaluga, Sochi, Russia, Sergiev-Posad, Elektrostal, Mytishi, Staritsa, Moscow, Murom, Queen, Veliky Novgorod, Serpukhov, Aleksandrov, Zelenograd, Dmitrov, Rostov, Kolomna, Zaraisk and Tula. For the first time, the choral program will be presented in Vladivostok.

This year in the choral program, participating teams from Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Voronezh, Vladimir, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok, as well as from Greece, Serbia, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Sweden.

Programme of the Easter festival will open on April 16 at home N. Rimsky-Korsakov in Tikhvin. Then continue in Gatchina, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Togliatti, Plyos, Yaroslavl, Yakutsk, Murmansk, Aldan, Neryungri, Suzdal, Smolensk, Nizhny Novgorod, and will be held in Crimea — in Simferopol, Yalta and Sevastopol.

In the framework of the bells program bell concerts will be held at the most famous belfries of Moscow: the Zaryadye, Zamoskvorechie, Taganka, including Red square and the Danilov monastery, and in parks — Kolomenskoye, Sokolniki. For the Moscow program will also join the bell tower of Rostov, Sergiev Posad, Istra, St. Petersburg, Uglich, Noginsk, Veliky Novgorod and Ramensky.
