Detained for picket in Moscow activist Dading released from police

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Detained Sunday during a single picket near the building of the main Moscow Department of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and questioned as a witness in a criminal case on incitement to riot activist Ildar Dading released from police. The activist was detained for a picket near the building of the Main Department of the MIA of Russia in Moscow and delivered in OVD “Tver”. He was questioned as a witness in a criminal case on incitement to riot brought against unidentified persons.

March 10, Dading was detained by police at the building of Federal service of execution of punishments (FSIN) in the center of Moscow after he refused to show his passport. According to his wife, he forgot his passport at home. Activist participated in the picket near the building of the Federal penitentiary service, along with human rights activist Lev Ponomarev, speaking for the resignation of several officials, including the chief of the Karelian colonies.

In December 2015, the Basmanny court of Moscow sentenced the activist to 3 years in prison, finding guilty on four counts of participation in uncoordinated protests. In March 2016, the sentence was commuted to 2.5 years.

February 10, 2017 the constitutional court of the Russian Federation ruled that the case Dading should be reconsidered, and the article of the criminal code, for which he was convicted, is subject to change. On February 22 the Supreme court of the Russian Federation on representation of the Chairman Vyacheslav Lebedev has revised the verdict to the activist and decided to cancel, manufacture on criminal case to stop, and the Dading release from prison.
