SEVERODVINSK, March 31. /TASS/. The second multipurpose nuclear submarine (APL) project “Ash” “Kazan” – removed from the shed and launched at Sevmash, the correspondent of TASS from the event.

The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, Russian Navy commander Admiral Vladimir Korolev.
“The launching of a multi-purpose modern submarine cruisers of the improved project “Ash-M” is a real event for the whole country, for the Armed forces, for the Navy. We carry the construction plan, approved by the government. It creates a group of submarines that will solve problems in all areas of the world ocean and to ensure the security of Russia”, – said at the ceremony the commander in chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Vladimir Korolev.
Firmly to defend their interests
Dmitry Rogozin said that due to the presence of the Russian Navy ships of similar nuclear submarine “Kazan” Russia will firmly and confidently to defend their interests in the international arena.
“Today we are present at the time of the conclusion at the finish line a very beautiful, powerful ship – multipurpose nuclear submarine “Kazan”, – he said at a ceremony of withdrawal from the boathouse of new nuclear submarines. Yesterday in Arkhangelsk we have completed the work of the international forum “the Arctic – territory of dialogue”. Deputy Prime Minister on behalf of the Board of MIC, and on behalf of the government of Russia thanked the Severodvinsk shipbuilders for the work done.
Launching of the third nuclear submarine
Launching of the third nuclear submarine type “Ash” – “Novosibirsk” is scheduled for 2019. About this Navy commander Vladimir Korolyov said in the ceremony of launching the second of the submarine “Kazan”. “The third plan to pull, I think the plan of the plant in 2019”, – he said.
“I think that these terms are uniquely designed, we have this confidence. In addition, this summer we go down to the water the fourth “Borey” “Prince Vladimir”, – said the commander in chief.
He also said that the seventh nuclear submarine of this type will be named in honor of the city of Ulyanovsk. “Extreme craft, sixth (serial, seventh), which will be called “Ulyanovsk” we are laying this year. One we have is part of the submarine fleet”, – he said.
“These ships will serve in the Northern and Pacific fleet,” – said Korolev, talking about the series “Ash”.
Most modern in its class
According to the commander of the Navy, the ships of the project “Ash” have a combat system in an integrated, low noise emission and are the most modern submarines in its class.
Sevmash has managed, despite certain difficulties in the construction of these ships when several thousand companies-co-operators, successfully to overcome them. We got a modern ship with modern integrated combat system, modern communications and missile-torpedo complex and, of course, with low noise emission compared to the previous one”, – said Korolev.
The General Director of design Bureau “malachite” Vladimir Dorofeev, in turn, added that the designers sought to create a ship with high combat qualities, while reducing its cost. “I think this problem is today solved. Technically “Ash” is a further step forward in creating ships next (fifth – approx. TASS) generation,” he said.
The Project “Ash”
“Kazan” is the second multipurpose nuclear submarine type “Ash”. She was laid down at Sevmash in 2009. Being the second submarine of the series, she is the first implementation of an improved project 885M. As expected, the “Kazan” will give the Navy of Russia in 2018, it will be part of the Northern fleet, which is already being service head submarine series – “Severodvinsk”.
