The FBI has released previously unknown pictures from the scene of the September 11 attacks

MOSCOW, 31 Mar — RIA Novosti. FBI official website published previously unseen images depicting the Pentagon after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

The Agency has opened access to the archive of 27 photographs.

The picture shows the wreckage of the plane hijacked by terrorists and left a hole in the building of the U.S. Department of defense.

Part of the photographs show the work of rescuers, firemen and FBI agents.

11 September 2001 suicide bombers of the banned terrorist organization al-Qaeda hijacked four passenger aircraft, two of which were sent to the tower of the world trade center in new York, and two others into the Pentagon and supposedly the Capitol or the White house.

All aircraft, except the last, have reached the goals. Were the victims of attacks 2974 people.

In the building of the U.S. Department of defense was hit by a Boeing 757 American Airlines, EN route from Washington to Los Angeles. It happened at 9.37 local time. On Board were 58 passengers and six crew members.

In the Pentagon 125 people were killed.

Since 2002, September 11 is celebrated in the United States as patriot Day, in 2009 this date is also revered as a National day of service and remembrance.
