Elton John and Andrew Lloyd Webber will create a cartoon based on the musical

NEW YORK, March 28. /Offset. TASS Igor Borisenko/. World-famous musicians Elton John and Andrew Lloyd Webber and playwright Tim rice will work together on the animated film based on the musical “Joseph and the amazing Dreamcoat”.

This was reported by news Agency AP, citing the head of the production company STX Entertainment Adam Fogelson, speaking in Las Vegas at the annual conference of owners of theaters and exhibition halls CinemaCon.

This musical based on the biblical parable of Joseph and his jealous brothers, was established jointly by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim rice in late 1960-ies. Originally it was placed on one of the theatrical venues in London’s West end, and in the early 1980-ies in new York, where the play was shown about 800 times. Andrew Lloyd Webber has created a total of 13 musicals, his work is seven times noted theater Tony award, three times music award Grammy, as well as such prestigious awards as “Oscar” and “Golden globe”.

Elton John, who on March 25 was 70 years old — singer, composer and pianist, had a marked influence on the development of so-called “light rock”. During its half-century career, the singer has released 30 Studio albums, sold over 300 million copies. According to prestigious music magazine Rolling Stone Elton John is 49-th place in the list of the greatest artists among his awards — five statuettes of Grammy and “Oscar” for the song to the animated film “the lion King”. In 1994 he was inducted into the Hall of fame rock-n-roll.
