SAINT PETERSBURG, March 27. /TASS/. Speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin has declared that the pogroms of offices of Russian banks in Ukraine take place with the tacit consent of Europe, and this causes confusion.

“Today defeated the Russian banks that are respected around the world, tomorrow it may be banks of any other country. Today walled office workers of the Russian banks, tomorrow will walling citizens working in other structures”, – said Volodin at a meeting with President of the parliamentary Assembly (PA) of the OSCE Christine Muttonen.

In his opinion, “this is reminiscent of the days when many European countries turned a blind eye to what was happening in the late 1930-ies in Europe, which ended very badly”.

“Therefore, it is absolutely unacceptable methods that allow one of the countries – participants of the OSCE parliamentary Assembly, and we must assess these actions. Causes misunderstanding why this is all with the acquiescence occurs”, – said Volodin.

Russia hopes for a legal assessment

The speaker also urged the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to give a legal assessment of the actions in respect of banks in the Russian Federation in Ukraine. “We would like as full members of the OSCE PA, count on the legal assessment that we have here the position was objective, and we could count on a discussion of these literally barbarous methods resorted to in respect of Russia’s leading banks that operate in Ukraine, but also, most importantly, we need to discuss unacceptable attitude towards the citizens of the Ukraine, because Ukraine is a Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE,” – said Volodin. “When immure its citizens just because they work in banks, although they are legal entities of the Ukraine, of course, here the voice of the OSCE should be heard,” he said.
