The visit of British foreign Secretary Boris Johnson to Moscow, which was to become the first in the last five years, cancelled. The invitation to visit Moscow Minister received from his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in early March.

“Unfortunately we have to postpone the visit of Minister of foreign Affairs of great Britain to Russia, scheduled for this month, in connection with changes in the schedule of the meeting of foreign Ministers of countries-members of NATO” — said the press service.

The Embassy said that Johnson “looks forward to the possibility to resume the visit as soon as possible”.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom in early March announced the visit of Johnson to Moscow, which was to be held “in the coming weeks.” The foreign Ministry clarified that Johnson accepted the proposal of Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, agreed to the visit did not mean a return to relations that were previously.

The talks will focus on relations between London and Moscow, as well as international issues, including Syria and Ukraine, stressed the Ministry.
