In the state Duma a bill toughening penalties for recruitment to the terrorists. Writes about this TASS on Monday, March 27, with reference to the author of the initiative — member of the state Duma Committee on international Affairs, Adalbi Shkhagoshev.
The MP stressed that recruitment is the “basis of the reproduction of terrorists” and is continuous. “The only thing that can stop this process, is tougher penalties for recruiters in the form of lifelong imprisonment” — said the legislator. According to him, during the day the draft law will be submitted to the government for approval.
Shhagoshev said he believes lack of existing penalties. “A terrorist can commit a terrorist attack, and the recruiter prepares dozens of terrorists”, — said the Deputy.
The draft law supplements article 205.1 of the Criminal code a new provision on “the preparation, declination, recruitment or other involving of the person” in terrorist crimes. Currently, according to TASS, the encouragement of terrorism to prison terms from 5 to 10 years with the penalty to 500 thousand roubles or without it.
