The state Duma will take part in the action “Earth Hour”
MOSCOW, 24 Mar — RIA Novosti. The state Duma will take part in the action “Earth Hour” on March 25 and will shut off for one hour the illumination of the building, told RIA Novosti on Friday in the office of the lower house of Parliament.
“The state Duma will participate in this action. At this time is 20 hours and 30 minutes within one hour, as in other places will be shut off, lighting of the building. The only exception will be the lighting of the national flag of the Russian Federation. It will remain. All the rest of the building will be disabled”, — told RIA Novosti in the apparatus of the state Duma.
In the framework of the campaign “Earth Hour”, held on March 25, more than 1,600 buildings in Moscow will turn off the backlight.
“Earth hour” — the largest international event in the history of mankind. Exactly an hour at exactly the same time in cities around the world turns off the backlight of the most famous buildings and monuments. In 2016 the event was attended by over two billion people.
The main idea of the campaign is to remind each person about the possibility of his personal involvement in protecting the planet. In the capital, the event is held with the support of the Moscow government, WWF and Ministry of environment.
