Medvedev appointed Kozlov acting head of the RAS Fortov is

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Valery Kozlov, acting head of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). Valery Kozlov was appointed instead of Vladimir Fortov.
As stated in the published order of the government, Vladimir Fortov liberated “from office of the President of March 23, 2017 at his request”.
“Agree with the proposal of the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences V. E. Fortov entrusting the duties of President of the Vice-President of RAS Valery V. Kozlov from March 24, 2017,” the document States.
Powers Fortov as head of the Russian Academy of Sciences was due to expire March 27.
