MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Political and economic pressure of the European Union is futile and doesn’t change the fact that Crimea and Sevastopol are part of Russia. This was stated today at the Russian foreign Ministry in connection with the statement of the EU high representative for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini on Crimea and the European Parliament resolution “On the Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia and the situation in Crimea”.

“Looks like a cynical attempt to present as part of “non-recognition policy” of the reunification of the Crimea with Russia the indiscriminate discriminatory restrictive measures of the EU against the Crimea, who in the area of visa policy, the EU is reminiscent of the “visa crackdown” and contravenes several norms of international law”, – stressed in dipvedomstva.

“Once again we remind you that Crimea and Sevastopol are an integral part of the Russian Federation, and the methods of political and economic pressure, to which the EU has resorted so hard, it is absolutely hopeless and not able to change this fact”, – stressed in the Ministry.

Imaginary “militarization”

Surprisingly, the Russian foreign Ministry called the claims by European politicians about the alleged militarization of the Crimea.

“Surprise and speculation about the “threats to international security” and “ongoing militarization” of the Crimea, – said in Russian depodesta. In the EU prefer to ignore the placement of the US ABM elements in Romania and Poland, the frequent exercises of NATO naval forces in the Black sea, strengthening NATO’s military presence in Eastern European States, which has a negative impact on the situation in the sphere of security in Europe, including the black sea region”.

Human rights

In the field of human rights evaluation of European politicians, he continued, the Russian foreign Ministry, indicate that the EU has long lost the moral right to function as a credible authority in this matter. “For the sake of dubious political expediency Brussels prefers to keep a close eye on the actions of the regime in Kiev and Ukrainian nationalists to cut off water and electricity supplies to the Crimea, the non-payment of pensions and allowances, and the blocking of railroad communication with the South-East of Ukraine, many problems in the EU by migrants, including the disappearances of migrant children and the denial of their rights, the situation of non-citizens in Latvia and Estonia, the growth of racism and xenophobia on the whole space of the European Union, blatant violations of human rights during the participation of a number of EU countries in the infamous secret CIA prisons”, – transferred to the Ministry of foreign Affairs.

“However, at the European Parliament in its resolutions on Crimea prefer to see only the mythical deteriorating situation of the Crimean Tatar population, despite the fact that real progress in the restoration of his rights occurred only after the reunification of the Peninsula with Russia,” – said the Russian foreign Ministry.

Better to see once

So that European politicians can make for yourself the real picture of the situation in Crimea, the Russian foreign Ministry advised to visit the Peninsula yourself, “as it has done numerous impartial representatives of public and political circles of the member countries of the European Union”.
In the meantime, stated in dipvedomstva, “in Brussels are still in touch with reality, and persistently turn a blind eye to the obvious positive changes in the lives of the population of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol in the Russian Federation”.
