The state Duma has charged to check on the legality of the activities of the media U.S.

MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. The state Duma has instructed its Committee on information policy, information technologies and communications to initiate a review of “Radio Liberty”, “Voice of America”, CNN and other working in Russia, us media on the compliance of their activities with the Russian legislation. The author of the relevant Protocol Commission of the chamber was made by first Deputy Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots Konstantin Zatulin (“United Russia”).

“Please instruct the state Duma Committee on information policy, information technologies and communications to organize the verification activities of the American media: “Radio Liberty”, “Voice of America”, CNN and others on their compliance activities with the Russian legislation”, – stated in the document approved by deputies at the end of the plenary session.

“After the presidential elections in the United States of American policy, made a systematic bitter accusations by the Russian media of meddling in the internal Affairs of States, has passed from words to deeds”, – stated in the Protocol order.

It recalls that on 14 March, the Senator from new Hampshire Jeanne Shaheen introduced in Congress a bill that gives the justice Department additional powers to check Russian TV channel RT in compliance with us law on “foreign agents”.

“Given the fact that persecution on the basis of specially adopted a repressive legal act may cause damage not only to the business reputation of Russian television and the Russian Federation as a whole, I consider it necessary to take proactive counter measures,” emphasizes Zatulin.

Earlier it became known that the state Duma will check up legality of the work of “Radio Liberty” and “voice of America”.
