ROC turned to bloggers to help introduce young people to the culture

Bishop Mark Tichon

The Russian Orthodox Church asked popular bloggers to help young people to love the Russian classics. On Friday, March 17, said the Chairman of the Patriarchal Council for culture, Bishop mark Tikhon at the meeting of the Society of Russian literature, reports RIA Novosti.

He showed the audience a video in which teenagers are unable to continue the lines of Pushkin’s poems. “We did this in order to just get through. This is Shakespeare’s — out of joint times. We aliens. The question is not who is guilty and what to do?” — expressed his opinion Tikhon.

The Bishop said that the only way to “reach out” to young people today is to attract those to whom they listen, that is bloggers. “Many of them have 10 million subscribers. They are ready in your format with us to work on instilling the taste for the Russian culture,” he said, adding that imposing a culture of young people is not necessary.

The meeting was headed by the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill.

Last summer, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church urged network users to pay more attention to their publications. According to him, anyone who speaks on the Internet, can have a devastating impact on the minds of others.
