Peskov commented on information on possible appointment Grushko Ambassador to the UN

The Kremlin has not yet decided on the candidacy to the post of permanent representative of Russia to the UN. About it RIA Novosti on Tuesday, March 14, reported the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

“Not yet,” he said, commenting on recent media information about the possible appointment to the post of permanent representative of Russia to NATO Alexander Grushko.

Earlier Tuesday, several sources in the state Duma said that the candidacy of Grushko regarded main to the post of permanent representative to the UN.

Since October 2012 Grushko, permanent representative of Russia to NATO in Brussels.

The head of the Russian mission to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, who held the post since 2006, died suddenly on February 20. He was 64 years old. According to the newspaper The New York Post, in the morning he felt unwell because of “heart problems”, the death was caused by a heart attack.
