Volunteers gave the women flowers and congratulated with the holiday, improving mood in rainy and not quite spring weather.

“The idea was supported in the social networks of compatriots. We wanted to promote the image of Russia and to congratulate with the March 8 American women,” said one of the organizers, photographer Kirill Timonin. According to him, many react with surprise.
“For them it is unexpected and unusual. Not often, especially in times square, the girls get flowers just for what they are. Here it is not accepted, and Russia is perceived on the other side,” said Timonin.
In the US, a similar event took place for the first time. The following year, volunteers plan to conduct it in other cities of the country.
